Chris Broomhead

Chris Broomhead

Chris Broomhead is a professional drummer based in Melbourne, Australia.

Chris has played with a diverse range of Australian artists, including appearing on country act The Sunny Cowgirls’ 2011 DVD release Live Wires, and is co-leader and founder of jazz-fusion group EQ along with guitarist Chris Bieniek and bassist Kit Riley. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2007 on Vorticity Music and their long-awaited follow-up album To Speak has been released this year.

He attended the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) where he completed a Bachelor of Music Performance followed by the Honours year program, and is currently completing a Master of Arts (Music Performance) at Monash University. He has studied with Tony Floyd, Dave Beck, Mike Jordan, Alex Pertout, Ian Whitehurst and Jordan Murray.

In addition to playing, Chris teaches at Box Hill Institute of TAFE and Donvale Christian College.
