The Victorian Jazz Archive Inc. was formed in October 1996 for the express purpose of preserving all forms of Australian Jazz music and memorabilia.
The prime focus of the Archive is to identify, collect, document, and exhibit all types of Australian jazz recordings, musical instruments, photographs, publications, videos, and historial memorabilia.
It's the Archive's Charter to provide access to all its material to the general public, music students, and researchers. This is achieved via internet access, general exhibitions, and viewing the Archive's extensive library.
