Kerry Patterson

Kerry's formal vocal studies were undertaken at Southern Cross University in Lismore in the mid 90's where she began writing world-music influenced folk songs and recorded her own jazz arrangement of "Joy To The World", accompanied by Tony Buchannon, Greg Sheehan & Dave Saunders. This was recorded and released on a compliation Christmas album in 1995 which still enjoys radio airplay in Northern NSW.

An interest in the history of jazz, soul & blues led her to leave behind the folk/pop songs of the late 20th century for the songs of Broadway and eventually concentrate on jazz.

Her repertoire has evolved to encopmpasses songs from the 1920's to the swing of the 40's, Latin Jazz by such artists as Carlos Antonio Jobim on which she plays percussion, and contemporary jazz interpretations of songs from the 60's.

A popular and entertaining performer, she delights audiences with confident delivery, imaginative phrasing, a sincere vocal approach and elegant tone and timbre.

She often brings audiences to a heartfelt silence with a stunning ballad or has them jumping out of their seats to dance between tables with a high energy-impact delivered funk/fusion number.

Kerry currently fronts her own boutique agency, Kerry Patterson Entertainment, and is available for hire accompanied by extrememly accomplished musicians as a vocal/guitar duo to a full 8 piece band.

She has performed at many corporate events; 2006 Conrad Jupiters Summer Surf Girl launch, 2004 Telstra Smart Women Awards at Parliament House and numerous cocktail parties and dinners at Stamford Plaza, The Brisbane Marriott, Royal Pines Resort Ashmore and other popular venues in and around Brisbane.

Residencies have included The Hyatt Resort Sanctuary Cove and Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast.
Kerry offers a streamlined range of wedding package options utilised at places such as St Lucia Golf Club, Noosa Yacht Club,Customs House and The Rugby Club.

She performed at The 2005 Valley Jazz Festival, 2004 Dingo Creek Wine & Blues Festival, Woodford Folk Festival,sung at jazz singer jam nights sponsored by Jazz QLD and is looking forward to an exciting year in 2006 with the completion of some long awaited recording projects.
